Here is one more historical novel that should be added to your nightstand (or iPad). Her writing is as powerful as the lives she describes. Hunter is, after all, relating stories from her own family, and she does so with love and pride. I think what separates this from many other World War II dramas is the intense focus on family.

Then I read the next one and it’s amazing. This year seems to be overrun by World War II historical fiction and I keep telling myself I’ve had enough and I’ll pass on the next one.
